On Tuesday, April 8, Chilliwack School District staff hosted a meeting with Greendale parents to discuss potential changes to the Greendale Family of Schools (Middle and Secondary School).
The Chilliwack School District continues to grow by about 2% each year, putting pressure on the capacity of our schools. District staff are looking at ways to balance enrolment at middle schools and secondary schools on the south side of Chilliwack. On Tuesday, staff shared an idea for parents and families to consider and provide feedback on. This proposal will not change where Greendale grade 6 students attend middle school in September 2025.
Scenario for Greendale Community School:
- Transition Greendale Community School students to Vedder Middle in Grade 6 (as early as September 2026).
- Greendale students would then all transition to Sardis Secondary in Grade 9.
